Due to the sustainable development and the environnemental safeguarding, a great interest in biopolymers was felt over the past few years. The request aims polymers of great consumption (PLA) as well as speciality polymers like functionalized proteins or polysaccharide derivatives for targeted applications as actives or additives. Their multiple uses concern cosmetics, agrofood industry, packaging, paintings, fine chemistry, pharmaceutics and health. POLYMERIX 2009 will gather members of these industrial sectors and academic researchers. The aim of the symposium is to provide an update on scientific and technical findings, on innovations and to trigger exchanges between participants. Applications of animal, microbial, marine or plant biopolymers will be reviewed through high level posters and conferences selected by the Scientific Committee. The Committee will select a few posters for short oral presentation during a “10 minutes to convince” session. The best poster presentation will be awarded. Coffee breaks and a cocktail will be organized in a place dedicated to the display of posters in order to encourage discussion and help efficient networking.
